Rich in story and meaning, this guernsey invites you to wear connection, memory and place through the Sir Doug Nicholls Guernsey – Saltwater Stories Volume 2, a powerful continuation of last year’s Saltwater Stories design. New elements across the front include flowing whirlpools and walking footsteps, symbolising significant aquatic landmarks in family history, most notably Whirlpool Pass off the Kimberley coast, and the enduring presence and connection to island homelands even after people no longer live there. The green tones across the lower design represent the islands north of the Dampier Peninsula where family and ancestors lived and travelled between by Galam, shown from a bird’s-eye view within the surrounding waters. On the back, the moon and its reflection across the guernsey depict Broome’s iconic Staircase to the Moon, with vibrant orange and yellow tones celebrating a moment deeply woven into local identity, balanced by mangroves that symbolise tropical country, hunting knowledge and the vital relationship between land and sea.
