Great fit, X-Wide availability, stylish, elegant

First off, it's great that New Balance provides the X-Wide fit. Thank you! I'm on my feet walking, standing and climbing stairs for 7-8 hours at a stretch. I tried other brands that came highly recommended but I was surprised to find they don;t have X-Wide sizes and their Wide sizes are rather narrow in the toe box, and I ended up with aching feet. I ordered the Fresh Foam X 880v14 and the Fresh Foam X 860v14, both in X-Wide (2E) 8.5. The specifications of both these models are almost identical except that the Fresh Foam X 860v14 has the stability feature. The Fresh Foam X 880v14 upper is flexible and comfortable and the "Grey Matter with Raincloud and Reflection" is a beautiful, stylish and elegant color. I was so tempted to keep both pairs! I ended up keeping the Fresh Foam X 860v14, because I like its stability feature. Regardless, I highly recommend this shoe.

Yes, I recommend this product.

New shoes, old favorites

I’ve loved these shoes for over a decade now. I realized my last pair was wearing thin right before my Ironman, and I had to rush to precise a new pair before my race. I had no time to break them in, but they’re so reliable I used them in the race anyway. I ran 26.2 miles in my fresh pair of 880s and not a single sore spot on my foot. These are a consistently excellent sore.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Terrible - do not buy!

I bought these because v13 was amazing. However i went for a short walk in these (less than 20 mins) and my right foot started straining. I gave it 2 more chances thinking maybe my foot just needed time to adjust, however the same problem happened all 3 times. I tried to contact to return and NB have rejected.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice running shoe - runs small

They run large - had to size up. I like the the wide width as my feet feel really stable and my toes aren't constrained. I think they will get dirty quickly but they are super cute!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have been buying 880s for a few years now, and I find the design is not as good as it was back in 2022. As an older person, I don’t appreciate the effect of the bouncing feeling of this design. I need firmness to safeguard my balance. At NB, you need to remember that you supply shoes to all ages, not just the young and trendy.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not a fan of the Fresh Foam X 880v14

I have had several pairs of 880's with mixed success as I have a narrow foot. I am disappointed in my new pair-- part of the shoe is narrow but the toe box is quite wide. I also can't find the right insoles for this shoe as the arch is already too high. I really miss version 12 -- which was almost perfect and I bought more than one pair. But they are worn out and I have never really liked my version 13 as I was encouraged to buy standard width. I hope you will again make a narrow shoe that does not require a high arch. It is so difficult to find any narrow shoes at all.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Fresh Foam 880v 14 - not nearly as good as previous versions - the “rocking” heel really is difficult to get used to. Almost every manufacturer is doing this now - I think to emulate the Hokas. I hate the way it rolls and rocks my feet - and won’t be purchasing these again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Cut too low for me

I find the cut too low around from the ankle to the archilies. Feels like my feet will fall out when walking. I’m a regular NB customer, probs had 15 shoes previously and this cut feels very weird. Need to get another pair I’m afraid.

No, I do not recommend this product.

New version issues

I've been wearing 880s for many years, for working out at the gym, walking on the treadmill, and walking in the neighborhood. I was surprised that these new 880s had changed a whole lot! I am having trouble keeping my heel in the shoe, which I think may be because there are fewer shoestring holes, 5 instead of 6 as previous versions. I have a short heel bone and use the runners stringing of my shoes and find that the shoelaces are too short to do this. I find the shoes comfortable and squishy and they look great.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing!

An amazing shoe. After years of not wearing New Balance, New Balance is back on the radar! These shoes are comfortable, available in wider widths, and the heel cup and tab keep my heel in place and make putting the shoe on a breeze. The laces never come undone either. I also really love the colour palette. Like another reviewer, I'm so glad "the old-school" style is back because they are much more supportive. The only things I would suggest are to provide a more supportive arch as the arch in this shoe is quite minimal, even for flatter footed people, and to have the outsole be entirely covered in rubber as I find balancing can be difficult when stretching, given how "marshmallow-y" the material is.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Wide?

Really disappointed with the neutral black and white New Balance 880v14 trainers that are supposedly wide fit? I really don't think they are wider than the standard fit? I am now having to size up to a 6.5 in New Balance trainers, whereas I normally have too much room in a 6 due to one of my feet being larger than the other and really have no idea if I will just end up with two problems with a shoe that is both too long and too narrow. Why do New Balance think that women have narrow feet and want cramped toes? Men seem to have wide and extra wide sizes for their feet so why not women?

No, I do not recommend this product.

Back again, because quality!

I had been a 880 fan for years but I had been gifted Hoka brand and that is when my problems started. I developed plantar fasciitis so I went back to my 880’s but sizing was off so I sent them back and went to on cloud and my foot problems continued. Recently I went back to my 880’s but went up 1/2 size. My feet haven’t felt this good in 2 yrs!! Hands down new balance has proven to me they are superior to all the other brands I have tried. I can walk without pain and I never thought I was going to know what that was like again. Thank you New Balance ❤️

Yes, I recommend this product.
