Wow! I love it! Features A+

1. When walking, I can see the watch face with a constant on. I can see how my heart is doing easily when I walk. 2. Recharge Time - Quick, like when I'm taking a shower 3. Sleep Info - Never thought it was important. Comfortable to wear while sleeping. I can now see and understand better what happened in my sleep. 4. Sync with my iPhone And still learning more of the features. I bought a cheap "sports watch" last year. It's in the trash now.

I've had my watch for over a year now. I beat the crap out of it and it still works great. I like it for the GPS function while running. I also use it while golfing and getting the distance to the hole quickly.

Worst UX

So I far I encountered the craziest UX and the most old-fashion UI I have ever seen on such expensive device :( After using another smartwatch for several years, I can't get used to Garmin because it's really bad.

Nice watch

I bought this watch about a month ago, primarily for its usefulness for exercise tracking (specifically running). I have found it to be super helpful in keeping me on track for training. On top of the GPS tracking for running, it also keeps track of a wide variety of health related data, helps me to verify my pace as I am running, allows me to build workout programs and easily record them, and a bunch of features I have yet to discover. The battery easily lasts 3-5 days (depending on how much I use it). There are customizable watch faces. Joining Garmin gives you access to training programs. For someone who is new to Garmin, it took me a couple days to get used to the basic functions of the touch screen and buttons, but, I have gotten the hang of it, and it is very easy to use. Love this watch. Favorite smartwatch I have ever had.

Great value for the price.

Playing it conservatively with the options in battery use, I think the claimed battery life is a little overblown - 5 to 7 days is more accurate, but the sensors are great. Intuitive design, nice clean display and super comfortable. The band feels a little flimsy but is easy to swap out. In general I'm very happy with it

A great watch

I bought this watch to replace a Vivoactive 4. I really like my Vivoactive 5 except for it changing my watch face back to the original face that came on the watch when I purchased it. I chose a new watch face and my watch changes it at least once per day. If anyone has a work around for this problem, please post it to me.

Nifty sportswatch that has all essential features for cycling/health monitoring. Bought it for the HRV and happy I got this (than the Vivo6) for a fraction of the price. On sale plus the bonus points as a Rebel Sport member. :)

Good but not perfect

I wore a Fitbit for many years and when the last one died, I replaced it with what I had hoped would be a longer lasting watch. The first Vivo5 had to be replaced because it died within the first 3 months. The second one is still around although it, too, has died on a couple of occasions, but I have been able to bring it back to life after a few, furious pushing of buttons. (Actually, the last time it died I had to do a factory reset.) That's the bad new. The good news is that the watch pairs seamlessly with my Garmin Edge 530, which is another reason I switched to Vivo5. It is rich in features, and the battery life is much better than the Fitbit. I'm not a huge fan of how a new band attaches to the face--it's kinda finicky and requires small hands--but not enough of a downer for me to consider replacing it. Overall, I am happy I switched from Fitbit to Garmin, but would really like it to be more reliable.

Thank you for the review! It sounds like you may benefit from setting a favorite activity list up on your vivoactive 5. Adding activities to your favorites list makes it easier to find the activities that you use the most. For instructions on how to do so, visit http://ms.spr.ly/6423scUYc If you need further assistance, Garmin Support is happy to help and can be reached at 1-800-800-1020 Monday – Friday, 7am – 7pm Central (Closed weekends and holidays).

From Apple Watch to Garmin

I am really enjoying my Garmin Vivoactive 5 so far. I mainly really wanted it to keep up with my walking/jogging, but I’ve also used it to track my strength training/HIIT exercises as well. Truly love the battery life. It’s SO nice not having to put it on the charger at the end of each day.

Have had my garmin for about a month now and can say I am fairly happy with it but there are some issues that could be fixed, for example the connect app is very buggy and I can’t use Apple Music on it which sucks which is understandable

Outstanding Fitness Smartwatch

The Garmin Vivoactive 5 has completely exceeded my expectations. It’s the perfect balance between a fitness tracker and a smartwatch, with a sleek, lightweight design that feels comfortable for all-day wear—even while sleeping. The AMOLED display is stunningly vibrant and easy to read in all lighting conditions, making it feel more premium than other fitness watches I’ve owned. What I love most is how fitness-focused it is. The built-in GPS locks on quickly and is very accurate, making my runs and walks easy to track without carrying my phone. The wide variety of workouts, including yoga, strength, HIIT, and even meditation/breathing sessions, keeps my training fresh and versatile. The Body Battery and sleep tracking features are game-changers—they give me real insight into recovery, energy levels, and overall wellness, so I can train smarter. Battery life is phenomenal. Even with GPS and notifications, I get nearly a week on one charge, which blows away most smartwatches in this category. I also appreciate the music storage and ability to download playlists, so I can leave my phone behind during workouts. As for smartwatch functions, notifications sync seamlessly, and I love being able to respond quickly without having to pull out my phone. The watch feels intuitive, smooth, and never overwhelming, even though it’s packed with features. Overall, the Garmin Vivoactive 5 is the best fitness companion I’ve owned—accurate, stylish, durable, and incredibly useful for anyone serious about health and wellness but who also wants the conveniences of a modern smartwatch.

Some text too small

Basically. I think this is a good watch. Some of the text, especially in notifications, is so small that it requires reading glasses which definitely doesn't work in the Sun. And when they send you a notification, it's only up for 2 to 3 seconds. By the time you put on reading glasses, it's gone. So it does you know good. I would not buy this watch again.Because I think there are others out there. That would have suited my needs bettearth. But it will be fine.I don't hate it, it's very pretty.

I absolutely love this watch. I have had it for weeks now, and I have few complaints. I love the sleep tracking, accurate data, and gps accuracy. However I do think the recovery time for next hard workout can be a little inaccurate for more fit runners. Also I wish there was a way to enter in your own record for your personal records. Overall I love this watch!
