Quality product.

Great product, takes some time to put together but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I think we (mum and dad) are using it as much as the kids! Worth spending that bit more for this one.

Great value for money

Purchased this3 days ago and my 10 year old son and I put it together in about 3 hours. I've read a few reviews about instructions not great etc. and have a couple of wee recommendations: Open all the hardware (bolts etc) packets and lay everything out on a piece of cardboard in its place. Tick all the parts off the list - keep ion mind you may have a few extra parts (this is normal) Have a quick look at the instructions and get a rough idea what's coming up on each page. you may need a wheelie bin with a old rug on it and something to stop it rolling (if it's full and wont move easily that's perfect) as when the base and pole are in, you need to connect the backboard, this is when you may need another adult. you connect the pole first, a few people struggle with this as the fit is quite tight. Follow the instructions and mark the poles then get a smear of Vaseline (or similar) on your hands and coat the parts of the tube that slide inside, don't smother it on, just enough to make it a a bit slippery- the parts will slide together easily-make sure the dimple is lined up in the groove (this is in the instructions) I used anti-seize on my bolt threads, but not necessary. Don't overtighten nuts, the instructions tell you to tighten the nuts so the top of the nut is flush with the thread, make sure you do this. The whole goal assembly must be designed in the USA as they as you to use imperial size tools (3/8",1/2", 9/16" size spanners or sockets) If you don't have imperial size tools, you can use metric tool, ie: 3/8" = 10mm, 1/2" = 13mm, 9/16"= 14mm and i think there is an 11/16" spanner/socket needed, you can use 17mm for 11/16". If you have got these tools, Bunnings has a cheap section of ring/open end spanner for $1.45 each at my local store. Budget but ok. When you fit the pole stays/stabiliser rods (x2) to the base, leave the stays pole bolt not fully tight until you have the stays base bolts and nuts started as the weird angle they are on make them a bit stiff to get on but easy if all loose. When you get to the stage of fitting the backboard on, you might not be able to fit both spacers in either side of the height adjustment rods, this can be tricky as some has to hold it while the other person slides the bolt and spacers through. This is where the wheelie bin helps as you can lean the pole/base assembly on it so the backboard assembly is a good height for someone to old it while the bolt get slid through. test the bolt and spacers before you actually put the backboard on, if the spacers don't fit between the poles/stays, loosen the nut slightly to let the gap open up a bit and re-tighten afterwards. I lad the pole and backboard down when I filled it and filled the base with water but I reckon sand would be better as the top bung/plug leaks. I think I probably put too much water in it or get a bit of duct tape and stick it down over the bung once the goal is upright and ready for use. but it's only a little bit of water and think it comes out when the ball hits the base- no biggie. I think that's all, main thing is to lay out all the parts (bolts etc) and follow the instructions strictly. Good luck My kids played on it all day and love it!

Don’t waste your money

The base of our hoop split at 14 months and hoop dangerously collapsed on one side. Rebel refused to help, citing that it was out of warranty (12 month warranty on the plastic base) Base is of poor construction and customer service at Chatswood was woeful. A really disappointing experience

My son was hoping for a basketball hoop for his birthday. I bought this and he couldn't be happier. It took a few hours to put together but was worth the effort. It is a great product and he uses it everyday.
