SKLZ Hit A Way Baseball Swing Trainer

My son loved it until it broke in the first week.

The cable on my hit-a-way snapped on the second day of use. My daughter and I had been loving it until then. Now it is useless unless we can have the cable replaced. Has anyone replaced theirs or will SKLZ offer warranty on this?

This is the only replacement I could find on the website for the original one that came attached to the hit-away contraption. The wide Velcro straps make it impossible to fit through the eyelets that are on the stand. I don’t see any way to replace the current worn-out baseball.

We bought the hit away on amazon after watching several YouTube videos. The product doesn't work. When it unwinds, it slows down so much that it almost drags the ground. We've tried everything- changing the height, using a thicker/thinner pole... nothing works! My kids get frustrated (as do my husband and I) until we give up and put it away. We try again a few days later just to find that it *still* doesn't work! Waste of money...

Adjust it correctly to their strike zone, sho them how it works and my sons that are 7 & 9 spends hours practicing

My son was struggling with his hitting. I had a friend recommend the hit away and said that it's one of the biggest reason he hits so well. So i purchased one and the results were major improvements! He lacked confidence in his hitting and you can see the confidence it has created. We got SKLZ'S!

Watching the videos on youtube, the cords seem much more flexible, coil around the pole properly, and return smoothly. This one must be newer model, because the cord is very stiff, and doesnt return the ball properly. Cant use it. Not the same as in the vids!!!

My son has been using the Hit-A-Way & PTS Hit-A-Way since he was 7 years old. As a matter of fact he started with the Jr. Hit-A-Way at 5 years old when I bought my oldest son the Hit-A-Way. People ask me how did your son learn to hit so well? I tell them all the time, it's the Hit-A-Way. In season he uses it just about every day, and takes a minimum of 300 hacks. He has also learned how to hit lefty with the Hit-A-Way. He is now 14 years old and a freshman in high school. There were over 45 kids that tried out for the freshman & JV team this year. He was named the starting catcher for the JV team and the Varsity coach said he was going to be brought up to varsity when needed. I am very proud and believe your product had a lot to do with his success. I think the Hit-A-Way improves a hitters hand eye coordination, improves bat speed, timing, and helps keep your head still & down on the ball when making contact. All of these skills are crucial for making solid contact with the baseball. Also, people should know that they should not use an expensive bat when using the Hit-A-Way. If they hit the plastic piece at the end of the ball it may put a small dent on the bat. My son always uses a wood bat when hitting the Hit-A-Way. When he uses the PTS Hit-A-Way I have to put 50# sand bags on each leg to hold it down in place. He has developed such a controlled violent swing that when he makes contact with the ball the whole PTS unit shakes and the legs jump off the ground, it's impressive. My only gripe is I need to order a replacement ball and cable for the PTS Hit-A-Way but it is not available. Please advise on how I can get a replacement. Thanks!

My three ballplayers love the hit-away system, but the wire broke near the top under the rubber cover. Will this product work as a replacement on the portable hitting system (which doesn't use the velcro attachments)?

I have a square pole (basketball hoop) and it doesn't go around like on a normal pole, and the straps are to small.

I give it 4-stars for now as it works great but i don't know about durability. My 6 y old can do it on her own, and has a blast with it.

This is a great swing trainer for youth players, or even pro players. I recommend this product for everybody.

I bought this for my son when he wasnt hitting too well. He loved it so much he did almost 1000 swings a day. The durability was amazing and it still is in great shape after 2 months. He has mastered it and has hit 3 home runs so far. Only complaint is that on the way back the ball is going to slow. How can you make it go faster because my son is hitting hard but it is still going too slow.

Great training device. Velcro could be reinforced to stay attached.

I got this for my birth day a month ago. I try to use it every day. Very simple and easy to use. But it takes a little bit of practice to actually get it going. I'm 13 and my bating average went up within a week!! The ball is getting a little scuft up thought. But overall great product and would recommend it to ages 10 and up. But I am very impressed by this product.

Usually go through 2 or 3 a year with both my boys, because they hit with the Hit-A-Way 2 or three times a week, wear and tear seems normal, I make sure to take it down after use because of the Texas weather, if left outside it seems to wear quicker.

I got this as a gift for my birthday last month. I probably took a thousand swings or so before the wire attached to the baseball snapped and I was left with a broken product that did last a solid month and was good while it lasted. I liked the product itself I just didn't care for the low level of durability.

I bought this product a year ago for my son to use in between practice and games. The old montra of if you it 100 balls a day, it helps maintain swing proficiency. Well, this product does just that.

The hit away is a great trainer for your swing. i am 14 years old and use this once a day and before every game to warm up my swing and get loose. It really generates bat speed if you use it constantly but within a 5 months for me the plastis on the end covering the metal flies off and the metal chips your bat this is why you should use a old or a bp bat. After 6 months the ball also flew off of mine and hit a neighbors car so i called it a day and went inside and ordered a new one. Overall this is a great product for the price and can really improve your swing.

I bought the hit-a-way last summer for my son.  He is 9 years old and has been playing competitive ball since he was 5.  Although he was already a very good batter, I found that the hit-a-way greatly improved his timing and "eye" at the plate.  He just loves it too!  He will be banging around in the backyard for hours with that thing.  It is very tough and pretty portable.  We pack it up and take it to his Grandparents when we visits.

I have bought two over the years for my son and one for a gift.  It helps to teach kids to swing level.

I bought this for my seven year old for Christmas.  He's played for 3 years now and is what they call a power hitter for his age.  He loves this. Though I wish the swing back were a little quicker he was able to get off hit after hit with that great "ting" sound.  Had to drag him back in from the 40 degree Ohio weather away from it.

My son has been using these for years now.  He uses it so much that he will burn thru at least two of these per summer - wearing the ball out.  It's not the easiest to master, I've watched many of his teammates struggle to keep it rotating for more than a few swings, but with practice he has mastered it and now can rotate the ball like a machine.  My only complaint with the product, it just doesn't last long enough.  He should be on the cover of the thing with as many as we have purchased.  Gave this a high four out of five rating.
