Best Runner

This shoes gives a bulkier look than expected. Make no mistake!! Everything about this shoe is phenomenal but I will be returning it because it doesn’t fit my style is all. I wish they came with more colors but the show itself is amazing. I learned that it is more hiking and camp trail type of shoe and it has a light but SOLID traction that you would feel even stick to flat surfaces. 10/10 on sole of shoe. 10/10 comfort in Midsole. Gives extra room for potentially wearing thick socks and consider this a shoe you would only use for running/jogging/hiking. Otherwise you will waste the benefits of the comfort xzoom that the shoe has built inside. TRUE TO SIZE!!! Hope you enjoy the shoe.

Hi I've had quite a few shoes from Nike and all been good , these shoes fitted well good reviews but the colour ! Trail shoes are surely designed for running in dirtier conditions, I can't understand why so bright they would be filthy after one parkrun and would be difficult to clean , need to be darker colours in my opinion. Chew up the blacktop in style!

Awesome! Rad cool colors and patterns, feels great just standing around or after a full day of working out! The price may seem steep, but if you need a kick-butt running shoe that’s got it all, the “Ferrari” of kicks so to speak, then this pair is for you! Bold style w/ extra cushioning from toes to heel and plenty of grip to chew up the blacktop as you pass by all your friends. Nike men’s victory for a reason. Go for the neon pink, give the walkers something to stare at as you fly by…

The Strava Slayer

Very fast trail shoe. Things I like: super wide toe box, great lacing system, subtle good zoom x cushioning (not too much), great on mild gradients/especially downhill, super grippy vibram. Things I don't like: the price, a harsh insert that gives me hot spots, could be a little more flexy on rocky terrain. Overall, this is the fastest trail shoe I have. I love the roomy toe box and this is the one shoe they got right with cushioning, not too much mush. This thing takes me from 5:30 on light grades to holding a good steady pace on the steep stuff. I live in AZ where rocks and soft over hard abounds and this gives great traction. And, it does last, I just have a hard time spending 260 on a trail shoe! It is the Strava slayer though.

I love this shoe! I'm able to run longer distances while retaining the same comfort as the start. It's fast, durable, has sticky grip and has a nice wide toe box. Please make another colorway so I can buy a second pair to rotate.

Cushioned, Responsive, and Grippy make up for the short lugs - Great shoe!

Exceptional grip, a responsive midsole, and great cushioning make this my favorite Nike trail shoe. While it isn't great for super technical or sloppy/muddy terrain (lugs aren't quite deep enough), it can handle the majority of trails well and you can't beat the combination of cushion and pop for once you are ready to pick up the pace! The Vibram outsole is a game changer for Nike trail shoes. I have 400 miles on the shoe and the midsole still has plenty of life left. Usually my shoes are ready to be retired at 300.

Fast shoe, better suited on tight compact trail or any other hard surface. Grippy sole, vibram thank you, wouldn’t recommend in muddy conditions. Drained well with a wide forefoot that made for a very comfortable ride.

Poor design- not recommended

Terrible trail shoe for any serious trails. I have now raced in these through several ultras, and while I like how light they are and cushioned, they are NOT good for protection. There is zero protection the upper part of the foot and toe box. Clearly designed by trail runners who don’t race on the east coast. I have broken (on both feet) multiple toes by hitting rocks or catching a branch with these shoes. That has never happened in my hokas, or la sportivas. They do have mediocre traction, but even that doesnt wear well. Nice try by Nike but very poor execution. Hopefully they fix this major design flaw with their second version. Would have gotten 1 star if not for the comfort.

Foam and midsole are top notch - my favorite foam density/thickness of any Nike shoe. However it???s advertised trail abilities are sub par, on road it???s my go to shoe!

Fast shoe, but terrible for technical terrain

Echoing others’ sentiments - these have a pretty limited use case. They’re probably great for packed trails, semi-paved, gravel, and dirt, but there’s simply not enough ankle support for technical courses. They’re otherwise a great, fast, shoe, but they’re ankle killers on technical terrain

Decent shoe, abysmal colour way

Decent shoe, very grippy and comfortable but no way deserving of this price point. Whoever decided an off-white design for trail shoes was a good idea needs talking to. The shoes just absorb any moisture, soles tarnish as soon as they look at a trail and shoes looked wrecked after half a dozen runs. Don’t waste your money.

Way too heavy

I wore these for several long training runs of ~18 miles and then for about 50 miles of Javelina 100 mile. I really wanted to like them, but they just are way too heavy and don't feel like I ultimately changed my shoes at the halfway point to a pair of Hoka Tecton X, which is another carbon-plated shoe that is way lighter and feels like real race shoe. Kudos to Nike for making a comfortable toe box and the Vibram sole though.

Nike Ultrafly Men's Trail Running Shoes - The Game Changer for Gym and Cross-Training Enthusiasts

From the moment I unboxed the Nike Ultrafly Men's Trail Running Shoes, it was evident that this wasn’t just another pair of running shoes. Meticulously designed and constructed with trail runners in mind, these shoes have successfully bridged the gap between rugged trail performance and gym-centric dynamism. Carbon Plate Innovation: The inclusion of a carbon plate is a revolutionary stride in trail shoe technology. It not only provides that propulsive push that's coveted by many road racers, but it also gives an unprecedented stability on rugged terrains. This responsiveness, coupled with stability, makes these shoes not only great for the trails but also remarkable for gym workouts. Versatility in Action: Most trail shoes tend to be a bit bulkier, prioritizing grip and stability over agility. The Ultrafly, however, manages to find a delicate balance. They’re light and agile enough for quick lateral movements, making them perfect for cross-training, yet sturdy enough to tackle even the most challenging trails. Traction & Durability: Nike's trail grip outsole is both impressive and functional. Whether it's wet, muddy terrains or the polished floor of a gym, the Ultrafly provides a confident grip, ensuring that you're always on your feet, no matter the conditions. Comfort & Fit: The shoe snugly wraps around the foot, providing a sock-like feel. The cushioning is well-balanced – not too plush to lose ground feel, yet comfortable enough to keep your feet fatigue-free during long runs or intense gym sessions. Aesthetic Appeal: Beyond functionality, Nike has done a commendable job in the aesthetics department. The sleek design combined with the signature Nike branding gives it a contemporary and stylish look, making it a head-turner both on the trails and in the gym. Conclusion: Nike's Ultrafly Men's Trail Running Shoes have set a new benchmark in the realm of sports footwear. They are a testament to the fact that you don’t need separate pairs for running and gym workouts. For those who prioritize both functionality and style, these shoes are a must-have. Whether you're hitting the trails, pumping iron, or just running errands around town, the Ultrafly has got you covered.

Arizona cross country perfection

I purchased these for my 15yo son to use for cross country races. We live in AZ, many of his xc races are partially on gravel and pavement. That makes running in xc spikes a really bad idea. These are PERFECT for the the courses he will be on this year. He's had one race in them so far and they preformed exceptionally well on multiple surfaces. Concrete paths, muddy grass, packed dirt and tiny gravel.

Ineffable

Let me start out by saying that I’m a Nike Running Product Tester. But, Nike did not send me these shoes. I purchased them. I laced my Ultrafly’s up this morning for a 12 miler fresh out of the box. These shoes are ineffable and leave me speechless. They have the right amount of cushioning and plate isn’t as aggressive as the Vaporfly and Alpha. The wide forefoot will allow you to toe off if you’re a mid foot striker and the extra heel cushioning will have you feeling like you’re landing on pillows if you’re a heel striker. What I really love about this shoe is the width. Since its not a narrow shoe, I feel it helps with my stability around curves, fatigue, and my landing. This shoe also has the right amount of material on the heel cuff for fatigue on those longer runs. The lugs on the sole provided phenomenal traction on 7 miles of trail and 5 on wet pavement. I must say, I actually loved the feeling of this shoe on the pavement too! The upper is breathable and lacing system provides the right amount of lockdown for you feet. I put 55 plus miles in a week and this shoe will be my race shoe and go to trainer.

Back to drawing board Nike

More negatives than positives on these and I think Nike need to go back to the drawing board. The materials used are not suitable for what they are intended for - the ZOOMX foam is covered with a fine mesh it seems so the mud basically stains once its in there on run no1 so they really don't clean up and look like tatty old trainers once they are dirty. The lip of the ZOOMX foam also goes over the edge of the rubber Vibram sole so it starts shredding teh foam as it comes into contact with the floor. Not sure if that's just a fault on mine but pictures are of mine after 15 miles of running so will be torn to shreds on the trails over the coming miles! The thick white laces are off an Air Force 1 or similar leisure shoe - can't understand why have they not incorporated the Vaporfly type lace or some other innovative lightweight lace for this level and price point... The upper is then 2 layers of a NYLON type outer and then elastic inner liner - stuff gets inbetween the layers. Not as fast as a Vaporfly - you don't feel like you're running in a carbon plated super shoe. I like the Vibram sole as its grippy so I'd expect them to last longer than a Vaporfly that will develop holes after about 100 miles. Although too early to tell if carbon plate start to dig through but will likely to torn to shreds by then in any case! Was expecting much better...

Very good, but not perfect

These are very good, but not perfect. The Good: They are relatively wide, which is good for me, as I have 2E feet, although they are not as wide as the 2E offerings from companies such as New Balance. The carbon plate makes them very stiff, which is also good for me since I have arthritic toe joints that get sore from too much flexing. The Not-as-Good: They are not as light as I expected - my size 11.5 weighs about 11.5 oz per shoe. This is not bad, but still an ounce heavier than Hoka's Tecton X 2 trail shoe. The same size Nike Next% road shoe is 7.5 oz, and I had hoped these would be closer to that. The tread is not very aggressive, and the rubber tends to be a bit slippery on wet rocks. All-in-all, a good shoe though. For an upcoming 100 mile trail race, I've decided to wear these instead of my Hoka Tecton X 2 or Topo trail shoes, at least to start.

These shoes are incredible! They are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn that zoomx foam really lives up to the hype. They are also extremely light and they look big but once u put them on they feel like you’re wearing a sock. This shoe has amazed me in everything grooms looks to comfort and quality. The only thing I will say is they run big and even bigger because of the toe box space. Only thing I didn’t like was that they are trail shoes made for running hills trails any type of terrain yet they have Hardly any ankle support! So be careful.

One run of 10.5 miles on a fairly easy trail on these, and I am very happy how they perform out of the box. These shoes handled the loose rock and tree roots on the terrain pretty easy. The sole seems to be sticky and grip was very good. I also run in the Zegama, which is a comparable shoe, just without the plate. Happy with this purchase.

VERY limited use case, but a work of art when used right.

I've logged about 30 miles in these with three VERY different runs: a half-marathon race on mixed trail and asphalt, an easy daily training run on semi-technical trail and a tempo workout on forest service road. My suspicions were confirmed that the use case for these shoes is EXTREMELY limited, but it's certainly not a dealbreaker. It's no secret that Nike's outsoles have left a lot to be desired, and I can assure that has been addressed here with the Vibram LiteBase: THANK YOU, and PLEASE continue to use them. Frankly, your other shoes are a deathwish on anything even remotely technical or during inclement weather...like, literally ANY moisture on the ground and you could be a goner. I am not being hyperbolic in the slightest. Back to the Ultrafly...I cannot imagine using these on actual mountain trails that weren't basically paved. I found myself tipping over constantly on my semi-technical run, there's almost no ankle support or stability for lateral movement or navigating around rocks/roots. I didn't expect that when I bought these and Nike has never said these work for that kind of use, so that's totally OK. But my gosh these things are phenomenal as a commuter shoe + race day for mixed road/trail efforts. I'd put these up against Vaporflys, Alphaflys, any of Nike's road options. They are a work of art, a hat tip to the design team for the comfort, performance and design aesthetic incorporated in these shoes. I'd just caution people against getting these unless they work for your budget and you know what you're getting going into it. This is not a training shoe, heck, this isn't even a racing shoe, it's for VERY specific efforts on VERY specific terrain that, frankly, you're not going to find too often on the East Coast. I don't regret my purchase, I just was hoping for a tad more versatility than what I got and to maybe be a little surprised.

Wanted to love them, not right for me.

I was looking forward to these dropping, first impressions out of the box were really promising, first try on and equally as good, they have a large toe area which suits my feet perfectly, I struggled slightly getting the fit to secure my ankle, eventually I was ready to go for a run, I decided to go for a 10k mainly canal/trail loop with a few bursts to test them out. They felt OK but something didn't quite feel right, I had a slight ache in the sole of my foot, maybe down the the plate. Anyway these are for an ultra so I needed to perform a better test. At the weekend I set out to run a quick 10miler over the trail/mud/hills. Again after a little raf getting the fit I was ready to go. After about 3 miles I got the same ache in the sole of my foot, I carried on my feet were getting hotter and hotter, so hot that I could feel my feet sweating. I finished the 10 miles and have decided they are not the shoe for me, they almost feel too solid (not enough sole flex) and that heat issue wow! I've ran is so many different shoes and never suffered with heat problems, even Gortex shoes. I love the look, love the grip (best I've ever used) love the toe box, hate the heat issue, not sure the carbon plate is going to be good for longer running, feel heavy, and not sure on how to secure the heel, on steep inclines they had a tendency to slip. I wanted to like these but not quite right, I suppose we can't all like the same shoes. Hopefully the next model will tackle some of my issues.

Very comfortable ! I have wide feet these are a great fit ! I love the upper and the vaporfly like tongue. You get a nice ride along the trails and the grip is fantastic. I could happily wear these for all of my runs ! I love those colourway but realistically they will look terrible after a few runs. Hopefully we get some nice bright colour ways soon

Fits true to size, comfortable out the box, flexible upper , sole very stiff, these “trail” shoes are for gravel paths, hard mud, road etc not for muddy trails , never experienced nothing like these they are so fast it’s cheating really, carbon plate pushes you on your forefoot and you just spring forward effortlessly!!! I would guess Vaporfly trail equivalent, lot of pbs will be broke with these
