Just too clunky for me

I really wanted these shoes to work. The fit was great. They felt comfortable on my foot. I love the upper. I did notice a couple of tiny holes in the fabric so I wouldn't say they're the best quality. However, I was hoping that these would replace the Vaporfly as a marathon shoe for me. I've worn the Vaporfly Next% (my favorite), the Vaporfly 2s and 3s for previous marathons. The new Vaporfly 4 are no longer good to use for marathons, only half and shorter distances. The Alphafly 3 looked promising based on lots of reviews. Unfortunately, they just felt clunky and not nimble like the old Vaporflies. They did feel supportive. I couldn't hit the pods in the correct place so I wasn't getting the energy return I needed for them to feel better. (I land a little bit further forward). So, I had to send them back. No more Nikes for me unless they make better updates.

Very poor quality, but they are comfortable and supportive

Do not purchase, the quality is very poor. I received and tested them on my block. Although they are very comfortable and look reach nice the back flap came apart. Also the sides were worn in just wearing them for that block. For the price, these are not worth it at all unfortunately. I really looked forward to these because they feel so good, but they won't last.

Great Style, Poor Quality

The shoes look really nice and stylish. I love the design and got a lot of compliments. But the quality isn’t great. After a few runs, the bottom started wearing out and the material didn’t hold up well. Bottom line: They’re beautiful shoes, but if you’re looking for something reliable and long-lasting for serious running, these aren’t it.

If you haven’t run in the alphafly 3 or vaporfly 3 and you’re over 50 you’re missing something

An amazing shoe! Love the vapor fly 3s but have a little bit more support and I’m coming back from a small injury and appreciating them. If you haven’t run in the alpha fly or a vapor fly three and you’re a If you haven’t run in the alpha fly or a vapor fly three and you’re an older runner. I’m in my mid 50s. You should pick up a pair. You’ll run faster and you’ll be less tweaking with the foam and they’re just plain fun. They’re beautiful they run true to size. The photo is from a Sprint session. I did recently in another pair of Nike track bikes.

The Best, But…

Some of the best fitting, most comfortable shoes I’ve ever ran in, while at the same time being extremely lightweight and responsive. The only gripe I have with these is the durability of them. I’ve had two pairs, one I ran over 300 miles in, and another that I still run in that have almost 200 miles in. Both pairs are extremely worn down, with noticeable torn foam portions and even holes in the outsole. Both pairs were only used on the road as intended by Nike. I understand shoes like the AlphaFly are not going to be as durable as other shoes in Nike’s lineup considering they’re intended for the sole purpose of running at race pace or faster paces, however, I don’t think I should be seeing this much wear on shoes that haven’t even hit 200 miles yet. So, if you’re going to be running a half or full marathon in these, they’ll do you fine, but don’t expect them to last more than 6 months or so if you’re consistently training in them. Thank you.

After 35 miles the heel started to break away, I’ve had versions 1 and 2 previously and they wear after around 150-200 miles, these were shockingly poor quality

Lovely... but they won't last long!

Love the look, the comfort and they run fantastically well. I have two pairs of which I have only worn one. The big issue is that they seem to remove more and more of the outer sole each edition. After only 30km they are already wearing away the outer sole by the heel and are eating away at the foam. For the price, the quality and lastability is very poor. I am going to sell my other pair before they get used as I know they won't last long. I hope that their next edition they address this, otherwise I will look elsewhere.

Awesome shoe! Tongueless upper is amazing. Heel fit nice and snug. Good cushion and a very reactive feel. You roll thru foot strike easily! Like the VP and Zoom Fly These are RUNNING shoes, not walking shoes. Sure you can walk in them but they wont feel quite as spectacular.

The only decision is which colour to buy next…

Well. I bought 4 pairs. These are everything I was hoping for. Essentially a springy, barefoot run with great energy return. All have worn well unless I try to take them off without undoing the laces, or scrape them on concrete. I wear mine daily. I have narrow feet with exceptionally high arches. As for this model compared to the Alphafly 2 and original…they improved them tremendously. They are snug without pressure, better foam profile, and the lacing system doesn’t untie easily. Oh, and they look cool. Final assessment - for a daily 5k- ❤️👍🏻💨

Not perfect but the best racing supershoe that I’ve used among VF2, VF3,adizero adios, AF3. Just received VF4s but yet to run in them. My first run in these AF3s was a shakeout before a half marathon. Was concerned as the shoes squeaked for about 2.5 miles but that finally subsided. Have run 2 half marathons in these- each time was PR by 4 minutes. Best thing for me is the low volume toe box. I have narrow, low volume feet. The VF3s are way too baggy in the toe box for me. These shoes do “hoof clop” loudly like the old tempo next % trainers. Ppl always turning their head as I come up on them🤣

Good RACE DAY shoe but....

Very light, responsive and expensive RACE DAY shoe. After about 100 miles the soles started to disintegrate and detach. Overall, good RACE DAY shoe if you're running 3 or 4 marathons a year but DEFINITELY not a 5 day a week running shoe.

Bought it last year and only used this shoes for running the marathon never used it for training. After the 3rd marathon (London marathon in April this year) I found that the sole has been separated from the bottom of the shoes. I'm really disappointed 😞 for the bad quality of this expensive £££ shoes

Nike alpha fly 3

I recently bought a pair of running shoes from Nike, and I couldn’t be happier! These are hands down the best running shoes I've ever purchased. The quality is exceptional, and they feel incredibly comfortable right from the first wear. Whether I'm hitting the pavement or the treadmill, they provide the support I need. However, I did notice that they are quite loud during my runs, which can be a bit distracting. Overall, I highly recommend them for anyone looking for great running shoes!

Poor Quality Shoe

These shoes don't deserve any stars—they practically disintegrated on my feet in their first race. I did two prep runs in them and ran a half marathon. Thirty-two miles later, they are toast. The foam sole tore in the heel. For the price, the shoe should be able to withstand a lot more than 32 miles. Sadly, I think this is the worst shoe I have ever run in due to its very poor durability.

Great but the estheticic is going down quick…

I bought the Alphafly last September and only start using them outside last month. I am sorry but these shoes a very fast. I ran all winter winter the Infinity 4 Gore-tex which is React Foam. Zoom X is that kind of foam that works well on high speed. One thing i am not sure is the heel glue to the plate. Mine starting to be exposed a bit but might be just the esthetic. For real it could be my last shoes I don’t care i would wear them to work.

I've bought the Alphafly 1 & 2 more than twice each and they lasted 3-4 months while running about 8 miles a week total, but these Alphafly 3 did not last 20 miles. It's like with each edition they keep removing more & more of the sole/bottom grip of the shoe just to replace it with more foam. I noticed cracks in the foam the within the first 4 miles, tears by the 8th and the grip completely fell off by the 20th mile, smh. I don't see myself buying another pair until they have way more sole/tread at the bottom because I wouldn't even be able to complete a marathon in a brand new pair.

Extremely Comfortable, but Disappointed

I purchased the alphaflys after I had a manufacturing issue with a previous Nike shoe. I only run 2 miles a day on paved road and in good weather. My original Nike shoes lasted me years, and unfortunately these only lasted a few months. The sole degraded extremely quick to the point of which the foam was exposed and the material become delaminated from the shoe. They are extremely comfortable and help with your running form simple by design. I absolutely love the shoe, it just didn’t last very long. I’ll attach pictures so those can refer to my comments. I’m a huge Nike fan, and was simply disappointed they only lasted 4 months.

So I’ve purchased another pair of these for London Marathon 2025 - I know they work, they give me confidence even at age 71 I’m sure they will get me round. 😃

These Nike shoes have been life changing. For many years I ran marathons on Ascics shoes until my Son suggested I try a pair of these Nike Air Zoom Alphafly’s. I have been diagnosed with severe hip arthritis and if it were not for these shoes, I would not be running. These are not just the world top marathon shoes, these are shoes that can make a life changing effect of allowing runners with sever arthritis to continue running. I am a life long convert and will always be a devoted user of these Nike shoes.

Amazing shoe! Best 10k time in 2 years during my first 15k run in them. They are so bouncy and light! I sized up half a size from my normal running shoe size as they are quite snug. I would pick these to run in every time if I had the option!

I usually run on Brooks, still do, but the first time I tried Alpha fly3 on the treadmill in Paragon, I knew they were going home with me. I bought my 2nd pair in 3 weeks! I love it not because it makes me run faster(cuts off 20-45 seconds/mile) but it really hugs your feet well. No break in period. Truly fits like lotion. I'm thinking of 3rd pair! Worth the hype or the $.
