True to its name, the Macpac Womens Uber Light Down Jacket provides lightweight warmth without the bulk. Designed to be a versatile mid or outer layer — depending on the weather — this down jacket features 650 loft RDS duck down for cosy warmth. The down is certified by the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) for the humane treatment of animals, because we’re passionate about supporting animal welfare. The lightweight nylon outer fabric features a water repellent finish to help protect against moisture, while the elastic bound hem and cuffs help to trap heat inside the jacket, keeping you warmer. A regular-fitting style, the Uber Jacket is perfect for layering up this season.

Lightweight vs Warmth

I bought this jacket because it was a Macpac brand and would be easy to pack and travel. It’s well made and looks nice on. It certainly meets the lightweight criteria, however it does not provide as much warmth as I’d expected. I also would have appreciated a little pouch to condense it into when travelling- as provided by some of the other brands . I’m hoping the quality will mean this jacket will last longer than the lightweight puffer jackets I’ve bought previously.

I bought one for my husband first, he was never out of his in winter. Then bought one for myself, it’s perfect for travel, super warm, lightweight and folds it a small bag. This jacket has replaced the need to carry several bulky jumper’s when traveling by air to cooler weather. Love it.
