Really happy with this watch. My 13yr old son loves it. Highly recommend for anyone who likes to keep track of their fitness and health. The sales assistant was also fabulous in helping me decided which watch was best suited to my son and his needs.

Standard Fitbit features not on Garmin 😒

Unable to disable sleep mode?? On weekends, we do not go to sleep the same time as weekdays yet I have to deal with a disabled watch from 930pm onwards??? Also, fitbits track naps/when we've fallen asleep automatically, we don't need to add it manually. One of the main things I like to track is my insomnia but because I've set my sleep schedule on the watch to 930pm to 630am, it just assumes I'm asleep between those times when I'm not....... The other day I was awake from 530am onwards but it said I was in REM...

Not for regular folks

It’s Way too complicated to setup - need a special college course to complete a setup. Simplicity - should be a modo for the users. May have a special tab for advanced settings. Moreover, this watch is dictating you what to do. Just a few examples; “take a rest and start moving” or “keep moving” EVERY Hour!!!! Or it starts buzzing in the morning despite the fact that my phone is still on the sleep mode?!!! Also it suddenly decides that I need to run, or I need to pick up a body to challenge? I DID NOT set it up!!!! I don’t want the watch dictates me what to do! I’ve tried multiple times to adjust settings on my phone and my watch-no success!!! It seems it’s running on its own! I’m thinking of returning it and I would discourage regular folks like me from buying it.

Care
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your frustrations with us. Many of the features you've described can be disabled by following some simple steps. The Move Alerts and Relaxation Reminders can be turned off by holding the bottom button, then selecting Settings > Notifications & Alerts > Health & Wellness. From there, you can toggle off any alerts that you don't want to use. In particular, you mentioned Move Alerts and Stress Alerts, so you'll want to turn those off. For full details of the alerts you can change, check out this link: http://ms.spr.ly/6420sENda As for your watch vibrating while your watch is in sleep mode, it sounds like you may need to set up your Sleep/Wake Window. Doing this will put your watch into automatic Do Not Disturb mode during your chosen hours, so your watch will not vibrate. Here's how to do that: http://ms.spr.ly/6421sENdx If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact Garmin Support at 800-800-1020. When you're given automated options, you can select option 3 for Fitness products, then select option 2 to speak with a representative who specializes in Vivoactive watches. *KC

Nice looking Watch

I've had this watch for a few months. After tweaking what I want it to do, notify me to this and that. Turning off the sleep mode and others things I have no need for, it still sends a nightly reminder asking if I'm awake. I don't sleep with it on my wrist. I have no sleeping issues. I worked shift work 40+ years, I know how to sleep when time allows. Way to many alternative sports loaded on here. With all these different types of activities, you would think hiking would be one of those. Nah had to down load one from the app store. It's great for what I use it for, just not into challenges and letting the world know I road 50 miles.

Liked my Vivoactive 3, Love my Vivoactive 5!

I had literally worn my Vivoactive 3 every day since September 2017 and I very much enjoyed it. The battery life was never fantastic but toward the end it was getting worse. I decided to invest in a Vivoactive 5 last month and enjoy the slimmer profile, the awesome battery life, the accuracy of the elevation sensor for my bike rides and the super bright screen. My Vivoactive 5 is my new health coach and so far we are getting along great!
