Works great in the pool. Think I’d probably go for the vivoactive 3 next time though. Has a lot more features and is still great in the pool.

More details needed on widget symbol meaning

Love to swim, but not in winter, although have found I have high blood pressure for some reason. This watch helps me with my daily steps & heart monitoring needs and of course it tells me the time & buzzes me BEFORE my phone rings or sends me a message. Good technology but the user manual could be a little more specific by letting the user know what each widget symbol means & how to use it properly. Apart from that, I like my new watch & look forward to using it while swimming in spring, summer & autumn & also double-checking my BP on our stationery bike & pilates reformer.

Great Swim Watch

Excellent swim watch for my needs which is Pool Swimming and Ocean Swimming. Took me a while to get used to using the functions but needed to read the instructions and test it out. Great price for the watch as others are more comprehensive but also cost a lot more.

Do not recommend the Swim 2.

I’ve been using the Swim 2 for about three months now and it has caused a lot of frustration. Sometimes it claims I have swum across Australia in 6 minutes, other times it refuses to show the route in the app. The it refused to show a 24h clock and it annoyingly changes from km to miles at random - and without showing the units on the watch face during the workout you have no idea till you’re well into your swim or ride. During pool swims it consistently either counts one lane too many or too few. The interface is clunky and not very intuitive and the screen must be borrowed from a 90s Nokia. At $399 this is a joke.

Garmin Swim watch 2 - Band strap

A poor quality, I had 2 replacement band in 3 months, first one the clasp broke off, second time the strap at the end where screws fell off it looks like the band stretched. So im looking for rubber band strap not silicones ones they dont last and i wasted my money for this watch with poor quality of the bands. not very happy. My last swim watch i had was TOM TOM and the band lasted 18 months then i got second one to replace it. this is the best watch for swim but unfortunately i unable to upgrade this brand due they no longer available. Garmin wasted my money

Look nice, large screen, gender neutral

A nice looking watch. It was a present. From my observations, the grey band is soft and the colour isn't too dark. This, with the turquoise rings around the buttons allow the watch to suit any gender. Bought for a 14 girl and loved it. IT is not bulky either. I didn't realise it is NOT touch screen. Log on to the Garmin website and view the instructions, as there are sooo many features not shown in the quick start up booklet in the box. Online, you can also download the PDF full instructions too. In terms of use: good variety, 5 buttons, able to suit the swims and styles. The app on the phone is important to assist with set up and which features you want shown. The stress, heart rate, sleep as well as training times are shown well in the phone app. Spotify (or any music app) can be linked and pause/skip etc are able to be used. There are many more features that we haven't looked at yet. A good buy for someone who will want to use it for sports features or for the simplicity and clean line look.

Great for counting laps!! And recording heart rate and time, haven't ventured beyond this yet, instructions are a little vague, apparently I have to down load the full instruction book, otherwise am loving this watch! It will take a while for me to figure out it's full potential.

Great multi use watch with GPS function

Love the watch, it has a shorter battery life than my previous Garmin forerunner but has more components for tracking. I have used this in the pool and the lap tracking can be a little off if you stop at the end of the pool or in the middle of a lap even briefly. I make sure to count laps just in case. Fantastic functionality otherwise, haven’t used for running with the GPS yet but am looking forward to an open water swim and run with the GPS.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Suffices but not Excellent

Not as good as my previous Garmin Forerunner watch which stopped charging and was sent in for repair with no news at all. Very short time between connecting to GPS and being able to start open water swimming or it reverts to a screen that takes ages to return. Miscalculates pool swimming distance even when set properly to 50m. Otherwise suffices for open water and pool times. I do not use all the extra phone and messaging apps as I am not good with the technical aspects. I miss my Garmin Forerunner
