A worthy upgrade!

I bought this watch as an upgrade from my Venu 2. It is wonderful, excellent stats for running and improving my fitness. I love that I can get all these features in a good looking, easy to use watch without having to buy an Epix.

Light weight and versatile

I purchased the forerunner when my Venu stopped working after 4 years of solid service. I’ve had the forerunner for 4 weeks now and am really enjoying it. I’m currently using it for regular runs 2-4 per week and I’m also using the golf app. The watch size is perfect for me and the display is bright and easy to navigate and see….important for night runs. For me the stand out is its weight. This watch is lightweight however to date this hasn’t compromised its battery life. Highly recommend this watch as a good all rounder.

Garmin Forerunner 965 - best sports watch around

The Forerunner 965 is a massive improvement over my previous Garmin, introducing a host of new features especially related to health and physical status. At the same time, it is still also the top sports watch for measuring running performance. The combination of all these features has renewed my interest in running, as well as other training, and kick-started my training for a marathon.

Excellent product, good warranty by Rebel

I purchased this watch on 26 Jan at Rebel in Sydney. On 28 Jan, the watch face cracked vertically for no apparent reason. Rebel immediately replaced the unit, without argument, under warranty. My web investigation suggested this crack had happened to a tiny minority of users over the last 9 months since release. Probably due to "flex" pressures on the plastic watch frame and thus gorilla glass. Product is interesting from an analytics point of view. I own in addition to a Garmin Forerunner 965 (all purchased in last year): 1. Fitbit Charge 6 - to try out their google analytics 2. Amazfit GTR4 - to test all around value 3. Huawei GT4 & GT Runner - to replicate their reputed accuracy and use the latter elegance 4. TicWatch Pro5 - to understand whether google wear ecosystem will survive; and 5. Polar H10 chest strap - to get an accurate HR reading to feed into most watches or watch apps I have also tested a latest release Apple watch, but do not own one. Each of these products does something that I value, that the others do not. Hence my excessive expenditure on this hobby. In the end the Garmin Forerunner 965 looks less elegant and is slightly less accurate in gathering data compared with a Huawei GT4 (or an Apple or Google watch), BUT feeds data into the most vibrant analytics ecosystem at both the mobile and web-based levels. In the latter it also currently does better than Google Wear/FIT or Apple Health. For instance, when one investigates the estimated Vo2 max of these devices, in my case, the Garmin device is nearer external test reality. In my case, FitBit (Google) and Polar over estimate and Amazfit and Huawei underestimate. The difference appears to lie in how each of their algorithms use actual resting and maximum heart rates, and age of respondent, as opposed to assumed values for a particular age and sex. GPS and thus distance data variances/accuracy are less of an issue. The Garmin Forerunner 965 looks cheap, but delivers good analytics. I will keep it, along with my Huawei GT4 (to check accuracy and look better) and Polar H10 chest strap, but have abandoned my FitBit Charge 6, Amazfit GTR4 and Huawei GT Runner.

Fantastic running watch

Loving training with this watch. The large and clear screen makes it easy to ready times / distance. I was struggling to read stats with my previous watch. It also syncs in with my headphones (maybe via the app) and reads out kms and average time which is really helpful for distance runs where I want to keep track of pace. All the the stats on the watch are interesting too such as training readiness and lactate threshold.

Upgraded from Apple Watch to Garmin

Upgraded from the Apple Watch to the Garmin recently and wow, it is amazing, can’t believe it took me that long to make the change. I use it for everything, sleep score, gym workouts, running, hyrox training. it is elite. For running you can customise your interval training and it will assist you in maintaining your pace, HR, etc with vibrations and alerts. For Hyrox training it alerts you when you should be starting your set, rest times everything. It is elite

Excellent watch!

I purchased this watch as an upgrade from my Apple Watch 6. I absolutely love it. It was very easy to set up, the band fits nicely and feels secure and it looks amazing on. It’s a very easy watch to navigate and I love all the data it provides me with. I am trying to improve my running and it is so helpful. I highly recommend this watch! The battery life is also amazing, even with daily use in workout mode, I am getting at least 10 days out of the battery life. Way better than the 15 hours my Apple Watch would last. If you are considering buying this watch, just do it! You won’t regret it.

Fantastic kit with loads of data

Upgraded for a forerunner 245 music, wasn't entirely sure how much of a step up it would be/if it was worth the cost. If you exercise regularly and are into your data, I couldn't recommend this more. It's a step-up in every way and I love scrolling through all the different data fields after each workout, the amoled screen is a nice addition too, really makes the colours pop. Speaking of the screen, I wasn't bothered about having a touch screen on a sports watch, but it's actually a nice quality of life improved for the aforementioned scrolling through data, & then just disable it for when it's not required.
