Everlast Powercore Freestanding Punching Bag

Bought this for my husband when he had stopped attending gym due to concerns of coronavirus. Best purchase I have made hands down. Used daily and no complaints. We wanted something that we didn't have to screw into any ceilings and working out cost of stand and standalone punching bag this came out more affordable.

I brought this item 3 weeks ago and has been great for practicing and working out daily. Needs a little more weight to hold it more steady, but otherwise a great functioning punching bag

First off I would like to say that assembling this was such a pain. The holes in the base of the neck didn't align with the drum so I spent a couple of hours trying to force screws into them. Secondly, and this is easily missed on the instructions, is that you need to take out the core that's in the middle of the bag, AND, the outer housing for the core. You can easily leave this in, and the insert the little foam piece in. Then after releasing your mistake, there's no way to take it out but to break it apart. I saw someone assemble it on YouTube who also made the same mistake. Third. It doesn't feel very strong. It's not something I'd punch with full force. The neck isn't flexible so the thing just wobbles around with all the force and it makes A LOT of noise. I seriously feel bad hitting away at it in the garage for all the noise it makes for the rest of the household. I did buy it to punch without gloves, so it's perfectly suited for this as it doesn't hurt my wrist with reasonable force as would a conventional punching bag would. So if punching a bag with your full force isn't what you're after, I think this is a great fun little bag to practice those quick and connecting shots.

For the price its not worth it. All plastic and cant give it a good wack. Over time im sure it will break plastic

It’s a great bag and a lot of fun to use. I filled mine up with water, but it still moves around a Lot when you hit it hard. Would be best filled with sand. I also needed a rubber mat underneath to reduce noise. The bag itself is sturdy and great to punch. I’ve done it both with and without gloves and found it’s fine for both. Really good option for a rental place when you can’t hang a bag. You can also kick train with it, but it’s a fairly small target for that and would struggle to do straight kicks without knocking it over

I bought this today. I set it up in around 20 minutes. The bolts provided have a rounded head. The required Allen key that is provided with the free standing punching bag seems to be in between standard Allen key sizes. That being said it sets up quite easily. I filled mine with water as an interim measure until I can get some sand. I am 185cm tall and 120kg. I am a 2nd Dan Black belt. When I punch the "Powercore" it shifts a little and rocks a bit - but it is really quite stable - even if you have to chase it across the garage floor slightly. You get good feedback from the punching bag. You can lay some heavy punching on it but it's also great for speed work. I tried some spinning heel kicks on it and I think I'll wait until I get in front of a heavy hanging bag before I go full tilt. I was worried that it wouldn't be tall enough and that it would fall over every time I hit it - but it is tall enough for some good head height punching and kicking, and while it moves a bit - It's not too bad. It will definitely be more stable if I fill the base with sand I'm quite happy with the purchase

Great bag, adjustable height. I have been training with it for 4 weeks and it stands up to a pounding.

This boxing bag takes a good smashing.. recommended use with bag gloves.. base needs to be filled To the top with 140kg of sand to with stand hard punching. Recommend to anyone that can’t get to gym to hit a boxing bag

I bought this item because my husband didn’t like my heavy bag hanging on the patio beams. This bag is very light, no comparison to a sand filled bag. There is very little resistance when you punch it. It’s ok for lightly sparring but not for a strong jab/cross. I’m happy with it for a cardio sparring workout, but if you want Some resistance when you box, I d stick to the heavy sand bag. Quality is reasonable but for the price I expected to be a bit more challenging.

Great quality, we filled it with water it moved too much, we filled up with 6 x 20kg bags sand and it didn’t move great to use, easy to put together

Really solid. I filled it with water and it goes perfect. Need to have a rubber mat underneath so it doesn’t shift when you throw hard punches. Overall def a really good piece you can carry out to places for outdoor exercise.

Purchased this for my son, great size for him and the whole family to use. Easy to assemble.

It's compact enough to have inside, but solid enough for a good workout.

This thing is a lockdown lifesaver! Really takes a beating and provides an excellent workout. Be sure to fill it with sand. I used 160kg of sand. Solid and sturdy!

Good product, more suitable for children than adults due to base movement when hitting.

I am of two minds about purchasing this product. It looks good and is great if you don’t have anywhere to hang up a boxing bag. It does how move a fair bit when punched and if hit hard enough the screw come loose and fall out

Our son has autism we purchased this punching bag as part of his therapy, free standing very easy to assemble. We used sand which makes it well planted, does not move around. Has been a great help to our son and family, I highly recommend this product

Solid bag - used multiple times daily for speed & cardio.

Easy to put together and bag is great for my daily boxing workouts, especially in iso. Doesn’t take up much room. Bag is soft but sturdy. I’ve purchased a couple of kids sandpit bags to sit inside to keep the bag weighted.

pros, can move anywhere any time, no property damage. drilling or hooks required.you can punch as heavy as you can. not too forget you can also do kicking with this Cons, need to fill with sand i got 4 sand bags from bunnings cost me another 28$. The feel is different as compared to the hanging heavy bag.

Love this punching bag, very easy to assemble and solid for a home made gym. I recommend sand rather than water in the base.

Good basic bag. Quite firm to punch, easy to set up. It does move around a bit when being used.
