For this year's Sir Doug Nicholls round, the Blues wear a particularly special guernsey design. The Carlton Blues 2022 Kids Indigenous Guernsey is design by local artist and great granddaughter of Sir Doug Nicholls Shanai Kellet. The guernsey is a reflection of the reconciliation between the club and its indigenous players.

Each circle represents the club's indigenous players past and present. Each player to represent the club in the AFL and AFLW is named across the design. White represent smoke and blue water, resembling the emotion of being cleansed.
