Consistency is key for St. Kilda's Jack Newnes, so it should come as no surprise that on game day, the 23-year-old has it all planned out. He talked to Inside Sport about his match day routine.
"The night before, I always do the same thing; pasta and a small pizza, a blue gatorade and a big bottle of water," Newnes said, "however, it depends what time of the day that I'm playing as to what I have on game day."
"If it's a day game, I'll go have brekky and have poached eggs with avocado, and then I'll have a chicken sandwich, then water all day to get hydrated."
While his body is prepared for the game, Newnes has a unique way of playing out on the field. He cleverly completes his research on his opponent earlier in the week, keeping his mind clear.
"I try to do all my work during the week, so come game day - I'm sorted, and I don't have to worry about what the opposition is doing," he said.
